Large Energy Savings now a reality on any Vibratory Equipment such as Vibrating Screens, Feeders and Conveyors with the Kinetic Drive System .
Conversely-Brute Force Drive Mechanisms have been powering Vibratory Equipment for decades and has been the most common system used in South Africa and in the world. Brute Force equates the total mass of any unit to the power that the unit needs to consume. (Simply stated very Brute Force uses maximum Energy and power ( Kilowatts ) to drive the unit at the acceleration needed. The heavier the Screen or Feeder body, the larger the rotating eccentric mass forces need to be, and the larger the Power Consumption will become.
The Kinetic Drive System combining a “ Free Force “ input from an A.C squirrel cage motor with Sub-Resonant Tuned Spring Output, describes the Kinetic Drive System. When an applied load increases, the springs inherently drive harder without any increase in power requirement from the motor. Relatively small rotating eccentric weights installed on the extended shaft of a vibrator motor once energised sustains the vibratory motion of the unit at the designed speed via the reactive power producing main Drive Springs. This inherent Drive motion between the Drive Springs and the motor is commonly known as “ Kinetic Energy “
Low vibrator motor/s energises the unit once started, and then continue supplying heat-loses in the system to maintain momentum at the same speed. The springs continue once energised to supply the forces needed to continue supplying the acceleration desired feed rate. A combination of motor and Drive Springs constitutes the Kinetic Drive System.
ADVANTAGES OF THE KINETIC DRIVE ARE:-
- Low Electrical Energy Consumption (Minimum 60% when compared to Brute Force).
Lower maintenance costs, because of the smaller motors.
- Tonnages of up to 1000 tph and more comfortably handled using only 7,5 kWs,
- No design limitations enabling longer and wider Units to be offered.
- Drive Springs spread along the Width and Length eliminating Drive Beam and Cross-Members
- Low dynamic loading on structures.
- Interchangeable spares between Vibratory Equipment all using the same motors and springs thus reducing inventory costs.
- Less noise levels (below 50 dBA) compared to Brute Force.
- The ability of the Kinetic Drive to “Pulse” by increasing Speed for short durations eliminating Blinding and Pegging- Especially helpful with Fine Screening.
- The ability to have a “Built-in” underpan which eliminates the steep valley hopper or bin under the machine saving huge costs on building height, specifically important on new Projects.
- The ability to Install the units onto skids or mounted on low-beds making them mobile.
